I'm happily married to a kind, handsome, intelligent, big hearted man who is my very best fiend, I have 4 smart, beautiful stepchildren, 4 brilliant and beautiful grandchildren, and live 700 miles from my family and where I grew up. Miss them every moment of every day. My husband is a disabled correctional officer. He's pretty much homebound so I stay with him as much as possible. My favorite escape from the real world is between the pages of a book. Books are like friends to me and I've been telling the grandbabies since they were born that "words are knowledge, knowledge is power, and as long as you have a book, you will always have a friend."

Okay, I admit it... Steel Magnolias is my favorite of all time. I can't help it. And those stereotypical "chick flicks" are right up my alley. A movie is good in my book if it makes me laugh, cry, cheer the characters on, and feel good all over because of the ending. Sandra Bullock and Meg Ryan are cool. And I have enjoyed a couple of Julia Robert's Movies. On the other hand, I enjoy some action/adventure stuff. You can't go wrong wth Nicholas Cage, Harrison Ford or John Travolta. I loved National Treasure, Lethal Weapon 4, Rush Hour 1 and 2.

Classic rock and contemporary country, contemporary Christian... some of almost any genre.

I like NCIS, Monk, The Closer, Women's Murder Club, Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares, America's Funniest Home Videos, It Takes A Thief, The Mole, The Amazing Race, Survivor, and I am ashamed to admit it, but I always watch Big Brother... it's like a train wreck and I cannot look away.

Almost anything I can get my hands on. Especially, cozy mysteries are my favorites. I read Lillian Jackson Braun, Diane Mott Davidson, Sue Grafton, Marcia Muller, Jill Churchill, Sammi Carter, Victoria Laurie, Lee Goldberg, Jennifer Colt, Lori Avocato. Also, I am hooked on Ann B. Ross and her "Miss Julia" books and I dread when I have read them all and am forced to wait for her to write another. Liz Curtis Higgs makes me laugh out loud and lately, I have started re-reading Erma Bombeck.
