ChristianActivities Publications is pleased to announce the publication of Christian Poets Pen, a new zine for poets who write Christian poetry or poetry from a Christian perspective. Christian Poets Pen began as a bi-monthly newsletter in the early 1990s, continued as a page on ChristianActivities.com, and now at last is becoming a poetry blog & zine on the web!
If you write Christian poetry, use the comments section at Christian Poets Pen to post a poem. If you have a tip or news of interest to Christian poets, you can also use the comments to post information.

I just realized I never posted anything about my Mayberry Days experience here, although I certainly posted it other places, but somehow it never showed up on my blog here! Let me remedy that right away.
It rained at Mayberry Days this year, but that didn't dampen spirits. It was especially fun for me this year as I had several friends there, so for me the rain was definitely offset by the fun times sitting around taking to friends like Chevy the fun girl, Gary from TennesseeTAGS (http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/TennesseeTAGS/), and Clyde, Ida and Louise from Mayberry USA (http://mayberryusa.yuku.com/).
My book signings went well, although the rain did mean fewer shoppers on the streets. Fortunately, I sold almost every book I ordered to book stores and gift stores in Mount Airy, North Carolina, the hometown of Andy Griffith and Mayberry Days.
To read about my 2008 Mayberry Days experience and to see lots of pictures and a video shot by Ida Graham, visit Mayberry Days Not Dampened by Rain (http://www.christianactivities.com/mayberry/story.asp?ID=6695).

I'm waiting for the final proofs of The Mayberry Poem - A Tribute to Mayberry, a collection of poems by 68 poets (iincluding myself) about "The Andy Griffith Show."
I have the first book signing a week from tomorrow! Hope the books are ready by then!
Anyone live near Mount Airy, North Carolina? That's where my book signings are scheduled!

My friend Dan Meyer is a sword swallower. That's not all he is; he's a juggler, fire eater, writer, musician, horse lover, social networker, husband, friend, and Christian, and he is a member here at ZoeCity. You can read a devotional Dan wrote at "Swallowing My Pride" at www.christianactivities.com.
Dan has one of the best online social networks I have ever seen, so I asked him to send in his top-ten list of tips to include in my book "How to Promote Your Book on a Shoestring Budget" which he graciously did. His tips are excellent!
Now Dan is competing on this summer's "America's Got Talent," and he was just selected as one of eight Wildcard Acts, to be voted on by America during the next week! Here's the link to vote for Sword Swallower Dan Meyer on America's Got Talent...
http://www.nbc.com/Americas_Got_Talent/vote/register.shtml
Online voting: Out of eight Wildcard Acts, you can vote for the one you feel should be included in the top 40 going to the finals of "America's Got Talent". To vote for YOUR favorite Wildcard Act, please visit www.NBC.com/AmericasGotTalent or www.NBC.com/AGT .
The online vote opens at 11:00pm ET on Thursday, August 7, 2008, and ends at 4:00pm EST (5pm CST) on Friday, August 15, 2008.
Any legal resident of the US, 13-years-of-age or older with a valid e-mail address may vote online for one of the 8 “America’s Got Talent” Wildcard Acts who you believe should be one of the 40 final acts competing for the grand prize. Voting is limited to TEN (10) votes per e-mail address!
