About Me
I have many years experience in sales and marketing, beginning when I was in college. I honed those skills and became proficient in promoting and publicizing Christian events and entertainment. Recognizing the need for a better outlet for publicizing Christian events in Nashville, I developed the Koinonia Concert Calendar in 1987 which became Christian Activities Publications in 1992,
As a writer and journalist, I have written articles for many newspapers and magazines across the country. I have also had poetry published in numerous anthologies and journals through the years.
In 1990, I began compiling tips about concert promotions for churches and other promoters on a tight budget which I published in a small, 8-page booklet. In 2006 I served as an author's rep for a Nashville publishing company. Taking my many years experience in sales, marketing, and publicity, and combining it with my years as a concert promoter and author's rep, I have written a book for people trying to promote their own self-published book on a tight budget. I am available for conventions and seminars as a speaker on book promotions.
HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOK ON A SHOESTRING BUDGET
I had the book all ready to go via self-publishing when a small publisher showed some interest. The past two weeks I have been in negotiations and then reformatting my book so we can lay it out a bit smaller, which will reduce the cost per book. I sent the reformatted book to the new publisher on Friday. Now I am just waiting to get a firm price per book and any extra charges before I make a decision.

2008 Mayberry Days Not Dampened by Rain
I just realized I never posted anything about my Mayberry Days experience here, although I certainly posted it other places, but somehow it never showed up on my blog here! Let me remedy that right away.
It rained at Mayberry Days this year, but that didn't dampen spirits. It was especially fun for me this year as I had several friends there, so for me the rain was definitely offset by the fun times sitting around taking to friends like Chevy the fun girl, Gary from TennesseeTAGS (http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/TennesseeTAGS/), and Clyde, Ida and Louise from Mayberry USA (http://mayberryusa.yuku.com/).
My book signings went well, although the rain did mean fewer shoppers on the streets. Fortunately, I sold almost every book I ordered to book stores and gift stores in Mount Airy, North Carolina, the hometown of Andy Griffith and Mayberry Days.
