Chattanooga Missions Trip 2008

The trip to Chattanooga really changed me. I didnt know at first what to expect there. I didn't know what kind of work we were gonna do, what the bible clubs (shorter version of a VBS) if we really changed the lives of the kids that attended the bible clubs, etc etc etc! And the work that we did there was extremely hard my brother who went to peru 4 times on a missions trip said that "Peru was a vacation compared to Chattanogoga because of the work we did". The job I had was to pull off wallpaper and paint the hallway. Sounds easy but the wall was covered with things I don't even want to mention and we had to clean it off in order to paint over it. But as the days went on I was suprisingly used to it and was willing to go straight to work and that taught me how to conquer my fears. Then at the Bible clubs the kids were litterally attached to us. They go through shootings everyday and their parents dont show them enough love saying that it will ok. So they look at us and expect love and encourgment. One of them said to me that they love us strangers more than they love their parents i know that it came from a 5 yr old but still. Then she asked me "Can you be my mommy" I couldnt answer her because her dad picked her up. I was thinking about that all trip long. That simple ? changed me!!!!!
